I've been so fortunate to photograph hundreds and hundreds of families since I began.
I absolutely love seeing the babies I photographed as newborns grow up before my lens.
Connecting with families and being able to give them the gift of timeless images has been my greatest pleasure.
I have had the pleasure of photographing Calgary families for over 14 years.

My approach to our session is simple. Number one I want you and your family to feel comfortable. This is the ONLY way we will get the photos you want. So that means there's no stressing allowed. I'll keep it fun, upbeat and casual. When we need breaks we take breaks. The less pressure everyone feels the better the outcome.

Working with newborns and toddlers can be hard sometimes. Newsflash - they don't always do exactly what you want them to. And that's OKAY! I pride myself on being incredibly patient with all the children I work with.
I truly love playing with them, trying to make them laugh and giving them space when they need it.
I have endless patience.

With three children taking photos is always a challenge for my family. There is always someone not looking, someone grumpy, or someone goofing around. There are a lot of people that can take a nice photo, but what has set Virginia apart to us is that she is able to catch all the magical little moments that occur during your session. Our photos somehow captured the personality of our kids and all the invaluable memories that comes with that.

Help! I'm not photogenic at all!
Believe it or not this is very common for my clients to say to me. None of the people you see on my website are models. They're all everyday people. I have my tricks to make you look your best.

Can we do an at-home session even if our house is tiny/dark/messy?

Yes! If you have kids I expect your house will have some mess. Please don't worry about this, it doesn't faze me at all. If needed, I'll help you move furniture/clutter around as we go. I've photographed in hundreds of homes and I've never found one that didn't work. Every home has good light, some I just need to search for a bit more than others.

What if my kids don't cooperate?

This is probably one of the biggest worries of parents before a session. I get it! You've got high hopes and you just want everyone to be on their best behaviour. I have a lot of patience with kids. Whether they're shy, over-excited, you name it, I find the more easy-going I am the better the results. I'll never get frustrated. I love playing with kids and the goofier I am, the more relaxed they are with me.

Can my pet be part of the session?

You bet! They're a member of your family after all. Pets are welcome to join in!

Can I keep the images from my session private?

Absolutely. There is an optional Model Release Contract to sign but if you'd prefer to keep your images private you may request at that time.

Do you provide props for newborn sessions?

I recommend skipping props in order to focus on the connection between baby and parents. The baby will be placed in their crib, on your bed or in your arms but I don't use baskets or bowls or anything that you wouldn't naturally do at home.

What if it rains/snows?

I keep backup dates available in case of inclement weather.
There is no charge for rescheduling our session. Calgary weather is notoriously unpredictable so I typically wait until the day before to reschedule a session.
